Mississippi Metropolitan Ballet

The Mississippi Metropolitan Ballet, formerly known as the Madison Civic Ballet, was founded in 1992 and has been a dynamic force in enriching the cultural community of central Mississippi .  Jennifer Beasley has been the company's Artistic Director for the past 11 years and under her direction MMB has grown into a company dedicated to providing both excellence in classical ballet training and opportunities for young dancers in the metro Jackson area.

The Mississippi Metropolitan Ballet presents a full production of The Nutcracker each December with a cast of over 100 dancers, as well as a Spring Gala in March.  The Spring Gala showcases a reperto ire of classical and contemporary ballets.  Full length ballets performed by the company have included Coppelia, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland,Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Firebird, and excerpts from Swan Lake and Don Quixote.  The company has been the guest artist of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions and in 2004 was invited to perform with the Lima Symphony Orchestra in Lima , Ohio .  MMB's outreach program has grown to reach over 1,500 students annually in areas underserved by the arts.
